Publication Process
Prudentia: Jurnal Hukum Perdata is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic excellence, research integrity, and transparency throughout the publication process. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are evaluated through a rigorous double-blind peer-review system and in accordance with internationally recognized principles of scholarly publishing and publication ethics.
1. Manuscript Submission
Authors are required to submit manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. Submitted manuscripts must comply with the journal’s author guidelines, ethical standards, and formatting requirements. Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
2. Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, manuscripts undergo an initial review by the Editorial Board to assess:
- Relevance to the journal’s aims and scope;
- Compliance with submission and formatting requirements;
- Originality, academic quality, and contribution to civil law scholarship;
- Similarity screening and plagiarism verification.
Manuscripts that do not satisfy these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected before proceeding to peer review.
3. Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that successfully pass the editorial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers through a double-blind peer-review process, ensuring anonymity between authors and reviewers.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:
- Originality and contribution to civil law studies;
- Methodological rigor and scholarly quality;
- Theoretical, doctrinal, and practical relevance;
- Quality and depth of legal reasoning and analysis;
- Contribution to contract law, family law, inheritance law, corporate law, property law, consumer protection law, and related areas of private law;
- Clarity, coherence, and overall academic significance.
4. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief may issue one of the following decisions:
- Accept Submission;
- Minor Revisions Required;
- Major Revisions Required;
- Resubmit for Review;
- Reject Submission.
The editorial decision will be communicated to the corresponding author together with reviewer comments and recommendations.
5. Manuscript Revision
Authors whose manuscripts require revision must address all reviewer and editorial comments comprehensively. Revised manuscripts should be accompanied by a response letter explaining how the revisions have been implemented.
Where necessary, revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation.
6. Final Acceptance
Following satisfactory completion of the revision process, the manuscript undergoes a final editorial assessment. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s academic, ethical, and publication standards will receive formal acceptance for publication.
7. Copyediting and Proofreading
Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting and proofreading, where language quality, grammar, references, citation style, formatting consistency, and overall readability are carefully reviewed.
Authors may be contacted for clarification during this stage. A final proof version will be provided for author approval before publication.
8. Production and Publication
After final approval, manuscripts enter the production stage, including layout editing, metadata preparation, DOI registration, and online publication.
Published articles are assigned to the relevant journal issue and made immediately available under the journal’s open-access policy.
9. Post-Publication Management
All published articles remain permanently accessible through the journal website and digital preservation systems. Corrections, retractions, withdrawals, or updates will be managed in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policy and the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
