Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished manuscripts that fall within the scope of State Law Review (SLR). Submitted manuscripts must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere and must comply with the journal's publication ethics and submission requirements.

The manuscript should be written in English and contain between 4,000–7,500 words, including footnotes but excluding references. The manuscript should consist of the following sections: Title, Author Information, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Method (if applicable), Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments (optional), and References.

State Law Review adopts the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th Edition (Full Note) for citations and references. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

All submissions are subject to plagiarism screening and a double-blind peer-review process. Detailed formatting instructions and manuscript templates can be downloaded from the journal website.
